Trigger Warning for racism
This is a campaign ad that Herman Cain did in 2006 for conservative group America PAC. Now that Herman Cain is running for president as a Republican, he is coming under more scruitny. So this is an old ad, but it shows that Herman Cain is a “can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” Black Republican who uses African American stereotypes to bolster is political career. This is one of the most racist things I’ve heard in a long time.
Voice Over: Paid for by America’s PAC
A rhythm and blues instrumental tune plays in the background
Man: The night’s still young. Come on, let’s head down to the river and try out the slots.
Herman Cain: Nah, I gotta get home. I promised Kathleen I’d help the kids with their homework.
Man: You know, the Army really changed you.
Herman Cain: War does that. It makes you value what you’re fighting for.
Man: So I bet you want me to vote Republican, like you and your soldier buddies.
Herman Cain: You got no reason to.
Man: How’s that?
Herman Cain: Well, you don’t work for a living, so what do you care about keeping taxes low.
Man: Hey, that’s cold!
Herman Cain: You cheat on your wife, so why would you want an amendment to protect marriage?
Man: A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do!
Herman Cain: And I know you’re not going to enlist to defend your country.
Man: Not everyone is as slow as you are, bro.
Herman Cain: And if you make a little mistake with one of your hos, you’d want to dispose of that problem too sweet, no questions asked.
Man: No, no, now that’s too cold. I don’t snuff my own seed.
Herman Cain: Huh, really? Maybe you do have a reason to vote Republican.
